Myanmar Earthquake Response

The death toll continues to climb after a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake shook large parts of Myanmar and Thailand on Friday, March 28. More than 2,000 people had been confirmed dead across Myanmar, with thousands more injured and many still unaccounted for.

This disaster hits incredibly close to home for us. Bangkok is our regional hub in Southeast Asia where several of our team members are based, all of whom are safe. Our thoughts are with our neighbors in Myanmar and those affected here in Bangkok.

Planet Water Foundation's response to provide support in Myanmar is in motion. Water filtration systems have departed our Bangkok logistics hub, and in parallel, our Disaster Response team is flying into Myanmar to begin preparations to deploy these systems, which will provide emergency access to safe drinking water to survivors who have been impacted by the devastating earthquake.

Your donations are essential in enabling us to respond quickly, and to supporting the immediate needs of those affected.

About Planet Water Foundation

Established in 2009 as a 501c3 U.S. registered non-profit organization, Planet Water Foundation is devoted to providing access to safe drinking water. Through the installation of our community-based water filtration systems, handwashing infrastructures, and the implementation of our Water-Health & Hygiene Education programs, we direct our attention to two critical areas: supporting schools, children, and local communities in the Asia-Pacific and Latin America regions, as well as the provision of safe drinking water in the aftermath of natural disasters worldwide.
