Help provide safe water access to communities devastated by Hurricane Helene.
Following the catastrophic impact caused by Hurricane Helene in the southeastern states of the US, Planet Water Foundation is activating relief efforts to provide safe water access to those in need through the deployment of emergency water filtration systems.
Hurricane Helene, a powerful Category 4 storm, devastated the southeastern US in late September 2024, causing caused widespread damage, including flooding, power outages, and property destruction. North Carolina bore the brunt of the storm's impact, experiencing historic flooding. As of early October, the death toll from Helene continues to climb, with hundreds of people still unaccounted for. The storm's aftermath has left many without access to clean drinking water, posing a significant health threat, particularly to children, the elderly, and those with compromised immune systems.
Planet Water Foundation has mobilized a response to bring emergency water filtration systems into affected communities. These systems are each capable of providing up to 6,000 people with safe drinking water and have been deployed by Planet Water Foundation across the world following natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, and hurricanes.
Donations will help the Planet Water Foundation team extend the impact of our response on the ground in providing support to affected communities.

About Planet Water Foundation
Established in 2009 as a 501c3 U.S. registered non-profit organization, Planet Water Foundation is devoted to providing access to safe drinking water to impoverished communities. Through the installation of our community-based water filtration systems, handwashing infrastructures, and the implementation of our Water-Health & Hygiene Education programs, we direct our attention to two critical areas: supporting schools, children, and local communities in the Asia-Pacific and Latin America regions, as well as the provision of safe drinking water in the aftermath of natural disasters worldwide.
